One of My Favorite Carpet and Cloth Seat Cleaners for Interior Detailing

When it comes to interior detailing, finding products that are:

  • effective

  • simple to use

  • safe on multiple surfaces

…can save a huge amount of time during a detail.

One product that has worked really well in my setup has been the Griot's Garage Interior Cleaner.

I originally started using it as a carpet and cloth seat pretreatment, and honestly, it’s become one of my go-to interior cleaners.

Why I Like It for Carpets and Cloth Seats

One thing I’ve noticed with a lot of interior cleaners is that some either:

  • leave residue behind

  • foam too heavily

  • feel greasy afterward

  • or don’t clean deeply enough

This product has done a really good job at cutting through dirt and stains without leaving surfaces feeling sticky afterward.

For carpets and cloth seats, my process is usually very simple:

  1. Pretreat the area

  2. Scrub with a drill brush or interior brush

  3. Wipe or blot excess moisture with a microfiber towel

  4. Vacuum the area

That combination works surprisingly well for:

  • general dirt

  • light stains

  • cloth seat cleaning

  • maintenance interiors

  • high-traffic carpet areas

Works Great With Drill Brushes

One thing that really helps this product shine is pairing it with drill brushes.

Using a drill brush helps:

  • agitate the cleaner deeper into fibers

  • loosen embedded dirt

  • pull debris to the surface

  • improve stain removal

Especially on heavily used interiors, that agitation step makes a huge difference.

The cleaner breaks down the grime while the brush does the heavy lifting.

A Good Balance Between Cleaning Power and Safety

Another thing I like is that it’s safe across a wide variety of interior surfaces.

That matters during mobile detailing because switching between multiple products constantly slows down workflow.

Being able to safely use one cleaner on:

  • carpets

  • cloth seats

  • floor mats

  • vinyl

  • dashboards

  • door panels

…helps simplify the process.

For maintenance details or moderately dirty interiors, it handles a surprising amount without needing stronger specialty chemicals.

Great for Mobile Detailing Workflow

In mobile detailing, simplicity matters.

The easier your process is, the faster and more consistent your results become.

I like products that:

  • spray easily

  • wipe clean

  • don’t require complicated dilution

  • don’t leave residue

  • work on multiple surfaces

This cleaner fits that style very well.

It’s straightforward, effective, and easy to work into a fast-moving interior workflow.

Final Thoughts

There are a lot of interior cleaners on the market, but this is one I’ve genuinely enjoyed using.

The Griot’s Garage Interior Cleaner has worked especially well for:

  • carpet pretreatment

  • cloth seat cleaning

  • light stain removal

  • maintenance interiors

  • fast interior refreshes

Simple spray-on products that actually work well are hard to beat during busy detailing days.

Sometimes the best detailing products are the ones that keep the process simple while still delivering solid results.
